Tikkun - Social Action

Upcoming Events

Beth El is participating in the Embrace-A-Family program held by Jewish Family Service. Help us brighten the holiday for a struggling local Jewish family.

We have been given a wishlist of items requested by this family. You may participate by making a financial contribution here, or by calling the office at 858-452-1734. If you would like to purchase particular gifts from the wishlist, please contact Dvora at Tikkun@cbe.org for a list of what items are still available.

Here is a bit of information about the family:
This incredibly busy, active-military blended family of seven - mom, dad, 4 sons, 1 daughter – have a strong connection to JFS, and to their Jewish identity. They are always looking for ways to “give back”  to the community whenever and wherever they can. Military Food Distribution programs and Hand Up Food Pantry are two programs for which the entire family volunteers. Over the years they have found the counseling, legal support, single-parent and Big Pals programs extremely helpful and supportive. With Dad being the only financial provider (mom is currently studying to be a drug and alcohol counselor), Bar Mitzvah ceremonies for the two older boys, and the sudden need to relocate, the current financial stress is significant for this appreciative family. Hanukkah would not be possible without the caring and loving support of the community.

Thank you for your support!
