Salon Workshop on Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony #3
The Kaddish Symphony
A celebration of Leonard Bernstein’s centennial. The La Jolla Symphony & Chorus (LJS&C) commemorates Leonard Bernstein’s centennial by performing his Symphony No. 3 (Kaddish). Join us for a unique opportunity to experience this extraordinary work. The Salon gives audiences the context in which to appreciate the piece and gives deeper meaning to the concert experience. The Salon program consists of a discussion of Bernstein’s Third Symphony led by LJS&C Music Director Steven Schick (a Distinguished Professor of Music at UCSD); Eva Barnes of the UCSD Theater Department, who performs the role of “narrator” in the Bernstein work; and Amelia Glaser to discuss Kaddish in Jewish tradition.
