Following the Congregation Beth El Annual Meeting, we will be dedicating our Community Kitchen and celebrating its Grand Opening. Join us as we share the purpose of this project and spend a lovely evening together.

Timeline for the evening:
6:00-6:45 pm- Annual Meeting
6:45-7:45 pm- Community Kitchen Dedication and Grand Opening including:

  • Ribbon-cutting ceremony
  • Bake-off Competition (see rules below)
  • Prized international recipes from our congregants
  • Delicious refreshments and good company
This effort began in December 2017, when we took inventory and performed a deep cleaning of our main kitchen. The Congregation Beth El Board of Directors decided to create a Community Kitchen that could be utilized by the entire congregation for all of the amazing community events we have in the Jacobs Family Community Hall. Our main kitchen will continue to be used by our kosher caterers for special occasions and congregational meal preparations. The Community Kitchen is intended to provide members a special space to prepare and serve dairy or pareve items for potlucks, informal gatherings, cooking lessons, and more. The Community Kitchen is just the latest innovation to facilitate involvement by our generous and wonderful Jewish community.
Please join the Board of Directors and Rabbis as we show off this new kitchen on June 26, 2018 following the Annual Meeting. If you would like to "shower" the new Community Kitchen, we are registered at Crate & Barrel and Bed, Bath and Beyond for some necessary kitchen items. You can search by “Congregation Beth El.”

Bake-Off Competition Rules:
  • In true fashion of what this Community Kitchen is about, we will host a community baking/dessert competition, following the dedication ceremony. This is your opportunity to show off your skills!
  • Please bring your dish with you when you arrive at Beth El for the event, on Tuesday evening, 6/26. Place your dish on a designated Bake-off table.
  • Please create a label titling your dish. You may include a list of ingredients and/or allergens, but please do not add identifying information about yourself.
  • Remember that our campus is peanut-free.
  • The Bake-off table will be closed during the Annual Meeting portion of the evening. Once the meeting is over, the judges will open the Bake-off table, take their tasting samples, and begin the judging. At this point the Bake-off table will be open for everyone to enjoy
  • The winner will be declared at the end of the evening.
If you have any questions about this event, please contact Michael Weiner at Mhweiner@gmail.com
