A Shabbat lunch for our community, especially those of us interested in love, faith, and the Talmud! Our guest at lunch will be Maggie Anton, an award-winning author and novelist as well as a Talmud scholar with expertise in Jewish women’s history.

Maggie Anton will be with us in person to discuss her current book, The Choice, a wholly transformative novel that takes character inspired by Chaim Potok’s classic novel, The Chosen, and ages them into young adults in Brooklyn in the 1950s. The Choice is a powerful love story with a purpose: to challenge the ways Jewish texts have been interpreted unfavorably toward women and their religious opportunities in Jewish life.
