Purim Megillah Readings
Family Purim Megillah Readings
Purim recounts an ancient tale remembering Queen Esther, Mordecai, and the Jews of Shushan. Purim encourages us to stand proud as Jews and ever vigilant against prejudice and injustice. Megillat Esther, the Purim story, is a parody written to provoke laughter through exaggerated characters and ludicrous situations. Each year, we read the story with glee, make noise with our Groggers, and laugh with relief when the villain is defeated. In an often-disturbing world, we maintain our strength and values by imagining happy endings.
We take pride in our youth participation, as they read from Megillat Esther. The readings and audio are found below.
