Our Music Legacy at CBE

CBE Music aims to uplift the Jewish soul by offering a variety of musical experiences that speak to the full human experience, just like our Jewish tradition does. From musical Shabbat experiences, music infused Holiday programming, and performances from our CBE Music groups, the opportunities will be wide and varied and options that will speak to every member of our community regardless of demographic.

Vav Adult Band
Vav is our band for adults at CBE. We help to lead some Erev Shabbat Services, put on concerts for the community (like at Plaza Prayer over the summer), and will record as well for our upcoming album.
This summer the band is working on presenting the music of Paul Simon, which will debut over Summer 2024. Vav rehearsals are weekly on Thursday evenings.

Music Infused
Kabbalat Shabbat
Once a month, our Ba'al Tefilah David Lipsitz and Craig Parks lead a music infused Kabbalat Shabbat that spiritually uplifts all those in attendance. During these services, we feature our bands like Vav ( CBE's adult band), Sulam (CBE's teen band), and The Meshugganah Youth Choir!
Concerts
From Vav and the Meshugganah Youth Choir to Craig Parks and David Lipzits, CBE offers many musical experiences to our community in different settings. The 2024 Summer Series Concert will feature the music of Paul Simon performed by the adult Vav band
Music Infused
Kabbalat Shabbat
These teen-only Kabbalat Shabbat experiences are led by CBE’s own teen band, Sulam and are open to all 8-12 grade Jewish teens. There are multiple Teen Shabbat Groove services throughout the academic year
Drum Circles
Several times a year our community will get to help make the music and rhythm with a community drum circle led by Craig Parks

Jewish Meditation
Every Tuesday at 2pm Craig Parks leads a Jewish meditation experience that includes both silent and musical meditation. Check out Affinity Groups for more information.
