Winter Shabbaton | Membership Matters: Welcome,
Connections, Community
February 20 - 21, 2026
Our Winter Shabbaton is devoted to celebrating our members, the heart of our synagogue family. On this special Shabbat we will pause, gather, and reflect on what it means to belong.
We will welcome new members, honor those who have helped shape our community over time, and strengthen the connections that bind us to one another. Through prayer, music, shared meals, and joyful experiences, we’ll mark this weekend as a meaningful moment of gratitude, renewal, and community.
Friday Evening, February 20

Shabbat Oneg - 5:30 p.m.
Join us before Friday night Shabbat services for a special Pre Shabbat Oneg celebrating our new and “newish” members!
Whether you just joined, still feel new, or just want to drop in and shmooze, we’d be delighted to welcome you and share this meaningful time together.
Musical Kabbalat Shabbat – 6:15 p.m.
Join us for an upbeat Kabbalat Shabbat service accompanied by guitar to raise up our prayer and song. Craig Parks and David Lipsitz lead us musically as we welcome Shabbat. We’ll sing familiar and learn new melodies to enhance our Shabbat prayer.
Community Shabbat Dinner – 7:15 p.m.
Following services, we’ll gather for a festive Shabbat dinner dedicated to welcoming and celebrating our newest members. This evening is about opening our circle, sharing stories, and beginning the weekend in warmth, joy, and community.

Saturday Morning, February 21:
Shabbat Morning Service
9:30 AM
Our service will also feature a blend of familiar and new melodies as we renew our spirits through prayer and song, Torah study, and time together in sacred community. It will also include special moments of recognition honoring our longtime members, whose commitment, leadership, and presence have helped build and sustain our community over the years.
Shabbat Luncheon
12:00 PM
After services, we’ll continue the celebration with a community Shabbat lunch, offering time to connect across generations, deepen relationships, and enjoy being together. For those interested, Rabbi Shulman will guide us in a Torah study session where we’ll explore and learn together.
Saturday Evening, February 21:
Saturday Evening: Havdalah & Community Social
6:30 PM
As Shabbat comes to a close, we’ll gather for Havdalah, marking the transition from sacred time into the week ahead. The evening will continue with a lively community social featuring a classic trivia night led by Sunset Trivia. Expect engaging questions, friendly competition, team play, and plenty of laughs as we test our knowledge and cheer each other on. Whether you’re a trivia master or just in it for the laughs, we look forward to spending a fun evening together as we unwind and wrap up our Winter Shabbaton on a high note.
